Buying ski boots should be exciting, not overwhelming. At The Fitting Mill, our expert fitters guide you through every step of the process with a dedicated, one-on-one appointment.
Each ski boot fitting session lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Appointments are available daily, at a variety of convenient times.
Our professional ski boot fitting service costs £50, payable at the time of booking. (Please note: this fee is non-refundable.)
We also offer a ski boot re-fitting service or can make adjustments to existing ski boots, its best to give us a call to book this in. (Limited availability in peak season).

Foot Analysis
Every fitting session starts with getting to know your feet in detail. We perform a comprehensive foot and lower limb analysis, including size, width, volume, arch profile, ankle range, and alignment. This deeper assessment highlights pressure areas, imbalances, and biomechanical issues that may affect the way your boots perform on snow. With specialist equipment and expert eyes, we study how your feet behave under load as well as when relaxed, ensuring accuracy from the ground up

Boot selection & testing
Based on the analysis, we narrow down a set of ski boots that align with your anatomy, ability level, and ambitions on the slopes. We only work with models that are proven for fit, adaptability, and high performance. From there, we perform a shell check: the liner is removed so your foot can be placed directly in the plastic shell. By checking space around the toes, heel, and instep, we can see if the boot provides the right platform for your fit or whether modifications are necessary.

Customisation
After selecting the right boot shell, the next step is building a custom foundation: the footbed. We use Sidas custom insoles, with specialist heat-moulding and vacuum-sealing equipment, we craft your footbeds in-store so they mirror your unique foot shape. This stabilises your arch, optimises foot and ankle alignment, and limits excess movement that can cause fatigue or discomfort during long ski days. A well-shaped footbed not only eliminates pressure points but also keeps your feet secure in the correct position, giving you precise control and maximum responsiveness on snow.

Adjustments & Modifications
While many skiers achieve an excellent fit straight out of the box, some boots benefit from fine-tuning. Once your boot and footbed are set, we perform a detailed shell-and-liner assessment to evaluate pressure points, support, and stance. If needed, we carry out targeted modifications such as heat-moulding liners, stretching or grinding the shell for additional space, or making cuff alignment adjustments to enhance balance and edge control. These adjustments are only made when necessary and are completed in-house with professional ski boot fitting tools, ensuring your comfort and skiing performance are at the forefront.
